The Pain Matrix Rapid Access Diagnostic Interventional and Ultrasound Service (PMRADIUS) is a unique service for selected GPs and specialists to provide low-risk, high-yield patients with expedited access to common interventional pain procedures.
The procedures offered under Phase 1 of the PMRADIUS rollout will be:
- Medial branch nerve blocks (for diagnosis of facet joint pain in the cervical and lumbar spine)
- Transforaminal injections (for single-level radicular lumbar pain)
- Caudal epidural injections (for discogenic low lumbar pain)
Phase 2 of the rollout will include further procedures such as ultrasound guided subacromial and greater trochanter injections, sacroiliac joint injections and cervical transforaminal injections.
Your participation in PMRADIUS will require attendance at a 2-hour seminar held at Pain Matrix, which will cover the anatomy of the lumbar and cervical spine, as well as the rationale for the procedures, and detailed introduction to the clinical role of these interventions. Once enrolled as a referrer, you will be able to book patients directly onto dedicated PMRADIUS lists at Geelong Private in real time.
