Emily Kennedy – Physiotherapist
Emily graduated from the university of Melbourne with honors and is a registered physiotherapist with 20 years experience. Emily has worked primarly in the Geelongregion, both in public rehabilitation and private sectors. Emily believes in empowering patients with chronic pain and complex health challenges towards confidence, optimism and enjoyment with physical activity and their individual lifestyle/work functional goals.
Emily utilises a wide-scope of evidence-based physiotherapy skills and her approach is individually tailored towards her patient's goals, in collaboration with a best-practice approach within the multidisciplinary pain team at Pain Matrix. She has great empathy for her patients and the complexity of challenges they may experience with health adversity & navigating compensable systems.
Emily is a long-standing member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, a member of the Australian Pain Society and has completed extensive post graduate professional development in the Physiotherapy field. She has also completed a Certificate in Positive Psychology coaching and resilliency courses and psychology seminars to better assist her patients o identify their individual goals and values, to navigate complex health challenges whilst moving towards optimal physical function.
Emily is also a registered Swim Australia Coach, has assisted patient's with returning to swimming goals and outside of work Emily spends much of her time submerged doing laps of the pool or swimming in the ocean.
